October 4th Champions Breakfast Fundraiser: Join us in Celebrating our Veterans, Champions, Community and Front-line Heroes

Honoring Our Heroes: A Tradition Since 1945

In 1945, when World War II ended, Santa Clara came together to celebrate the return of our veterans. The parades of that era were not only a joyful welcome home but also a solemn reminder that not all fathers and husbands returned, and many came back with lasting injuries and challenges. Our community made a promise then—to remember the sacrifices and to celebrate the resilience of our heroes.

That tradition lives on today. The nonprofit Santa Clara Parade of Champions (SCPOC) continues to honor our champions, community, and frontline heroes. With the support of sponsors, donors, and volunteers, we ensure this legacy event remains free for the public to attend. Beyond the celebration, we extend our mission through charitable initiatives—supporting youth scholarships and service programs, and providing aid for veterans and families facing medical crises. Then and now SCPOC gives back.

This year, we invite you to start parade day at our Breakfast of Champions, hosted at the American Legion Post 419 (958 Homestead Rd.) on Saturday, October 4th, from 8–10 AM. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, meet our Grand Marshals, and share in the spirit of community before the parade’s opening ceremonies. Tickets are just $15, with all proceeds directly supporting our veterans.

For nearly eight decades, Santa Clara has shown what it means to stand together in gratitude, pride, and community spirit. And with each parade, we renew our promise: to celebrate, to remember, and to give back.
